Ambassador Yasser El-Bakhashwan, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy, announced the launch of an ambitious strategic initiative to support Burkina Faso's national economy and alleviate the suffering of displaced persons affected by conflicts and wars in the country. He explained that this step is part of the Council's commitment to promoting sustainable development and stability in the African continent, embodying the deep fraternal ties between Arab and African nations.

El-Bakhashwan added that Burkina Faso is currently facing exceptional circumstances that require concerted international and regional efforts. Supporting its national economy is not merely a humanitarian duty, but an investment in the future of the entire African continent. "We believe that the stability and prosperity of Burkina Faso represent a cornerstone for achieving regional security," he stated.

The Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy clarified that the initiative focuses on several key pillars aimed at achieving immediate and sustainable impact and fostering investment in vital sectors. The Council will work to attract direct Arab and African investments to key sectors in Burkina Faso, such as agriculture, infrastructure, renewable energy, and manufacturing industries. Efforts will include organizing investment forums and providing facilities for investors to ensure an attractive environment for capital.

He affirmed that emphasis will be placed on training and qualification programs for Burkinabe cadres in various economic and technical fields, with the goal of enhancing self-reliance and creating sustainable job opportunities for youth and women. Additionally, there will be support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as the Council views SMEs as a key driver of economic growth. Therefore, technical and financial support will be provided to these projects, facilitating their access to regional and international markets. Moreover, urgent humanitarian assistance will be extended to displaced persons, recognizing their difficult humanitarian conditions due to conflicts. The Council will provide necessary support for food aid, shelter, healthcare, and clean water, and will also work on community rehabilitation programs to help those affected overcome the impacts of displacement.

He pointed out that the Council will work to facilitate trade exchange between Burkina Faso and Arab and African countries by removing barriers and developing logistical infrastructure, contributing to the diversification of Burkinabe exports and increasing their revenues. He called on international partners and humanitarian organizations to join this ambitious initiative, emphasizing that concerted efforts are the only way to confront current challenges and achieve a better future for the people of Burkina Faso.
