Arab and African Economic Council: Somaliland President's Meeting Boosts Investor Confidence


The delegation of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy, headed by Counselor Hany Abu Zeid, followed with great interest the implications of the official reception of the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, at the Presidential Palace. This reception resulted in a positive and direct impression on the Arab and African investment community.
Ambassador Yasser Al-Bakhashwan, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy, affirmed that this significant diplomatic step, along with the high-level discussions it encompassed, has brought about a qualitative shift in investors' perceptions of Somaliland, as they now view it as a safe and stable investment destination.
He explained that they have observed a remarkable increase in interest in investment opportunities in Somaliland, particularly in the infrastructure, energy, mining, and tourism sectors. This reception was not merely a political event; it served as a clear message to investors that Somaliland possesses the necessary stability for building long-term partnerships, which places it on the regional and international investment map.
Ambassador Yasser Al-Bakhashwan, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy, pointed out that this comes within the framework of the Council's efforts to support economic momentum in the region and draw attention to promising destinations that offer a reliable and stable business environment.
It is worth noting that the President of the Republic of Somaliland received the senior management delegation of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy at the Presidential Palace in the capital Hargeisa. The delegation was led by Counselor Dr. Hany Abu Zeid, Chairman of the Council, and included Ambassador Yasser Al-Bakhashwan, First Deputy Chairman of the Council; Major General Hassan Attia, Deputy Chairman of the Council for GCC Countries Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Al-Attas, Deputy Chairman of the Council for Financial and Administrative Affairs; Mr. Nabil Al-Ghareeb, Head of the Supreme Advisory Board of the Council; Dr. Amr Mohamed Gaber Ghaidan, Executive Vice President in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Head of the Gold Division in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Ghazwan Al-Nono, a prominent investor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Al-Mahdi Mohamed, an investor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Wajdi Seirafi, Secretary-General.
