Ambassador Yasser El-Bakhshawan, First Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy, emphasized that Egypt's Northwestern Coast is currently witnessing an unprecedented developmental and urban boom in its history. He pointed out that the strategic vision of the political leadership has succeeded in transforming this region from a mere seasonal summer resort into a sustainable, year-round investment and tourist destination, representing a fundamental pillar for supporting the national economy.
In the context of this exceptional boom, Ambassador Yasser El-Bakhshawan praised the recent signing of a major and expanded investment agreement to invest in the Northwestern Coast. He stressed that this massive agreement is a natural outcome of the attractive climate and the gigantic investment opportunities generated in the region. He added that it serves as practical and conclusive evidence of the accelerating pace of global and Arab interest in acquiring investment stakes in this promising hotspot.
He explained that the volume of foreign and domestic investment inflows injected into the North Coast—particularly in mega projects such as New Alamein City, Ras El-Hekma, and the recent major agreements—reflects the international investment community's confidence in the strength and resilience of the Egyptian economy, as well as the advanced legislative environment and infrastructure established by the state. He emphasized that what is happening in the North Coast is not just the construction of tourist resorts, but rather the formulation of a new economic reality that connects Egypt with its Arab, African, and Mediterranean surroundings, creating cross-border investment partnerships that firmly place the region on the global tourism map.
Furthermore, he noted that the major investment agreements recently signed in the North Coast have proven that the region has become the most prominent and successful model for attracting massive capital, especially joint Arab and Gulf investments. He explained that the current urban boom has created thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for Egyptian youth in the contracting, tourism, and services sectors. He pointed out that the network of mega roads and axes, desalination plants, and regional airports—such as Alamein International Airport—has made accessibility and mobility within the region match the highest international standards, encouraging major companies to sign further joint cooperation protocols.
He underscored that this developmental renaissance represents a golden opportunity to enhance joint Arab-African cooperation, extending an open invitation to businessmen and investors from the African continent and the Arab world to explore the promising opportunities available in the fields of real estate development, hospitality, and logistics in the region, and to benefit from the facilities granted to major projects.
Finally, he stressed that the North Coast has come to represent the face of modern Egypt and the New Republic towards the future. He praised the sincere efforts of the Ministry of Housing, the Armed Forces, and all executive authorities racing against time to achieve these accomplishments on the ground, which directly contributes to raising economic growth rates and bolstering the value of the local currency through the successive inflows of foreign currency.
