Ambassador Yasser El Bakhshwan, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy, stated that the international arena, specifically in Europe, has witnessed a fundamental and historical shift with the start of a wave of official recognitions of the State of Palestine by major countries. This move represents a triumph for Palestinian rights and a correction of a historical imbalance. He explained that this shift did not come from a vacuum, but is the result of a confluence of several factors, foremost among them being Egypt's pivotal and consistent role in supporting the Palestinian cause and its continuous diplomatic steadfastness.

El Bakhshwan added that Cairo has always been the primary regional cornerstone that adopts and advocates for the Two-State Solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. In the context of the current crisis, the Egyptian role has been prominent across several tracks, most notably its diplomatic resilience and shaping international consciousness. Egyptian diplomacy successfully brought the Palestinian issue back to the forefront of the international agenda after it had nearly been marginalized. Egypt consistently worked to mobilize international public opinion and present the facts on the ground, emphasizing that regional peace and stability are contingent upon the recognition of Palestinian rights.

He further clarified that the Egyptian state played the role of a firewall to prevent the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, especially through its absolute refusal of any scenarios related to the displacement of Palestinians, considering it a matter of national security and an existential right. This firm stance thwarted Israel's attempts to impose a new reality, prompting European nations to re-evaluate their policy toward the conflict. He also pointed out that Egypt worked effectively to coordinate Arab, regional, and international efforts, as seen in international and regional conferences, pushing the Egyptian vision that the recognition of the Palestinian state is the sole step to break the cycle of violence and achieve peace.

He noted that these European recognitions are a long-overdue acknowledgment of justice and reflect the growing international isolation faced by the Israeli government's hardline policies, particularly concerning settlements and intransigence in the negotiation process. Furthermore, these recognitions grant Palestine greater international legitimacy and diplomatic momentum in international forums and may open the door for more international measures to hold the occupation accountable and to consider economic sanctions. Moreover, this wave renews hope for the possibility of reviving the peace process on the basis of the Two-State Solution after years of stagnation.

He concluded by stressing that the wave of European recognitions of the State of Palestine is the harvest of Palestinian steadfastness and sacrifices, supported by the active and consistent diplomatic movement of a central nation like Egypt, which remains the guardian of the gate for Palestinian rights and the conscience of the region.
